One of the ObeyGC2 values is that work is intentional.
In other words, it’s more than random acts of kindness. Random acts of kindness are wonderful and we need to do them. But we mustn’t stop there. We have a purpose for our lives and so we need to live it purposefully and minister purposefully.
1 Cor 3:7-9a
7 Neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers.
Gal 4:18
18 It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always and not just when I am with you.
Phil 2:2-4
2 Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Phil 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
2 Thess 1:11
11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.
