Coming to MetaCamp

Thank you for your interest in attending the training sessions at MetaCamp. We pray that your time spent here will equip you to multiply disciples and simple churches.

Travel Instructions

Location: 8487 Highway 49S, Dadeville, AL 36853


If coming from the north, exit highway 280 in Dadeville at the McDonalds following the highway 49 signs through town. Proceed approximately 10 miles during which time you will pass over the bridge at Blue Creek Marina. We are located a mile or so past the bridge on the left side of the road where you see three mailboxes.

If coming from the south (Montgomery) exit at the 49N sign off of Interstate 85 and drive approximately 25 miles. At 0.8 miles past the Walnut Hill flashing light turn at the three mailboxes on your right.
If you are coming from Atlanta on interstate 85 take the exit 58 that says 280 West/Tigertown. Keep to the right. Proceed to mile marker 88 and turn left on county road 34/Stillwaters . Drive 8 miles to the flashing light at highway 49 and turn left. Proceed across Blue Creek Marina bridge. 1.2 miles past the bridge we are located at the three mailboxes on your left.


For those who are flying, Atlanta (ATL) is usually the best airport to flyinto. It is a little less than two hours from MetaCamp. You can catch a shuttle to Auburn/Opelika on Groome Transportation
( https://groomeaub.hudsonltd.net/res ) and we can pick you up there or you can rent a car at the airport. On Groome, select the Opelika Fairfield Inn for your drop-off point.

What to Bring

  • Bible, pen, and a notebook to take notes. (A training manual will be provided but it does not provide space for personal notes.)
  • Good walking shoes
  • Teachable heart
  • For those of you sleeping at MetaCamp, also bring:
  • Toiletries / hair dryer
  • flashlight
  • mosquito spray/sunscreen in the summer sessions
  • umbrella
  • shower shoes ( shower area is separate from the sleeping area)
  • hat (optional) for prayer walking
  • any personal medications

All bed linens and shower towels/washcloths will be provided. The bunkhouse has
two rooms containing bunk beds. It is carpeted. Toilets are available in the shower
area . The shower facility/laundry area is located in the next building. A third
building houses the classroom and offices. We do not have vending machines.
Coffee, tea, and water will be available at all meals and break times but if you need
other choices please bring them with you. We discourage bringing outside food into
the bunkhouse because it is located in the woods and we do not want to encourage
bugs. You will be fed abundantly at meal times and breaks. Let us know about any
dietary restrictions.

Schedule

Please plan to arrive between 12:00 and 12:45pm Central Standard Time on the first
day of training. The first session starts promptly at 1pm and your presence is
essential.

Cost

$400 for those sleeping at MetaCamp. This includes all teaching, accommodations, meals and materials.
$250 for those attending sessions and eating meals at MetaCamp but sleeping elsewhere.
A $50 deposit is requested 30 days prior to session and will be applied toward the total cost. The balance is due upon arrival. Checks can be made out to “MetaCamp.”
