ObeyGC2 is not about explaining the parts of the Bible you don’t understand but about living out the parts you do understand.
What is the use about arguing about the meaning of Scripture if you don’t obey the parts we are all crystal clear about? Until we obey what we have heard and understood, we will have serious problems with our life in the eternal perspective. What could possibly be more important than obeying what Jesus told us to do? He evidently thought it was pretty important…
Matt 7:24-27
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
So I am leading a group and we are on tell our story.
Before Jesus how we came to Jesus how life is different after Jesus. One lady ( a long time Christian) says I wish I could just spend hours with the Pastor so I know everything he knows so I could do it. Long story short asked all there to make list and ask God who to share their story with that night. Next week lady is completely ecstatic she did it (praxy) and she had three names one was a Muslim and another a Hindu. Incredibly she obeyed even though she completely doubted they would listen because they were you know Muslim and Hindu but she had felt those were the ones God told her to do it with. They both were in her words ready seemingly prepared haha. She is now sharing Jesus’ story with them both. This was not years ago just two weeks. This stuff works if we obey. I think that’s what this post is all about. Thanks Curtis
