ObeyGC2: Working out your faith
Most of us who seek to follow the Lord have figured out that it isn’t a one-time decision. We have to daily die to ourselves and follow Him. In fact, we must choose to obey moment by moment. It is this process which God uses to perfect us, molding us into the image of Christ and the process through which He uses us to accomplish His purposes in the world.
Luke 9:23-24
23 Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”
Phil 2:12-15
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.
Eph 2:10
10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Rom 8:29
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
