Strategic

One of the ObeyGC2 values is that work is strategic.

Being strategic means that it is an intentional part of a larger coherent plan. Another way of looking at it is that it employs system thinking, recognizing and incorporating plans to deal with unintended consequences and the constellation of issues which will be affected by one’s actions. The larger strategy is ultimately God’s plan to glorify Himself and establish His Kingdom. A subset of that larger strategy is the blessing of all peoples and the restoration of mankind and indeed all creation. In this regard, it might be helpful to ask this question before acting: “How can this best bring glory to God?”

Gen 12:3
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

Rom 8:19-21
19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

2 Cor 5:17-19
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
